What this website does with data, why, for how long, and the rights you have.
This website belongs to Jaimy Smets BV, trading as Jaims, Billingenstraat 54, 3500 Hasselt, Belgium. Below is what happens with your data when you visit the site or contact us.
This site sets no cookies
There are no cookies on jaims.be and nothing is loaded from third parties: no Google fonts, no social media buttons, no advertising networks. That is why you see no cookie banner. Your visit is not used to build a profile of you.
The data we do process
When you use the contact form or email us. Your name, your email address, your phone number if you fill it in, and what you write. A message sent through the form reaches us as email; the form puts nothing on your device and records no visit. We use it to answer your question and, if work follows from it, to carry out that work. Legal basis: answering your question is a legitimate interest, and for an assignment, performance of the contract.
Technical server logs. The hosting environment briefly keeps technical data such as the address requested and the time, in order to deliver the site and detect abuse. That data is not used to identify or track you.
How long we keep data
A message about an enquiry that does not lead to work is kept for at most twelve months. Correspondence and documents relating to ongoing or completed work are kept for as long as the service requires, and afterwards for as long as statutory retention periods run (seven years for invoicing).
Who we share data with
This website runs on Amazon Web Services infrastructure in the Frankfurt region (Germany). Our email runs on Google Workspace. Both act as processors: they process data on our instructions and not for their own purposes. We do not sell data and pass nothing to third parties for marketing.
Your rights
You may see your data, have it corrected or erased, restrict or object to the processing, and receive your data in a readable format. An email is enough; you get an answer within thirty days.
If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Belgian Data Protection Authority, Drukpersstraat 35, 1000 Brussels, gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit.be.
